aiyaja
Hey guys! This is my favorite video converter at the moment. It converts files without losing the quality or affecting the picture size relatively quickly. So far, I've used this program to convert a HD MKV file to AVI, works wonders! There's no watermark because I'm just converting from one type of file to another. Flaws of the free version: 1. The program can hardsub any type of video as long as there is a .srt, but the free version will have a watermark in the center of the picture, so either 1. You buy the program/subscription or 2. Search online for the keygen. I found one, but I'm just going to buy the program. 2. The program can also burn DVDs quite fast and high quality too, but again, the free version will leave a watermark. Please try it. I recommend this program; I really do. I love it. http://www.wondershare.com/pro/video-converter-ultimate.html Play around with it. It's quite advanced. Maiko
Ooh, thank you! I'm definitely going to try it out when I have time. Thanks for all the information!
aikoden
It can do hardsubbing Aiyaja? :D If so, I'm definitely gonna have to check it out. I need a good hardsub/encoding program hehe.
aiyaja
^Yeah, it hardsubs very quickly; however, there's a watermark on it though for the free version. like a big one right in the center. I would rather just buy it, it's like 30 bucks or so because it's sooooo worth it.
aikoden
^How is the quality of the hardsubs on the video? Is it based on the quality of the videos? I have problems trying to make the subs clear and unpixelated when encoding the subs with other programs... because it turns out looking like the video quality.. so the subtitles are pixelated too.. :( Edited September 21, 2013 by aikoden
aiyaja
Generally, subs are separate from video quality. The quality of the video does not affect the subs. However, if you hardsub the subs and then make the size of the file smaller by converting it, the subs will be decreased in quality too. But if the video is ready to go and then you hardsub, the subs will be in good quality. And it also depends on what type of program you use to hardsub too. Some programs will compress the files as they hardsub, which will of course, make the subs low in quality and you run into the issue you mentioned. This progrm doesn't compress anything, it doesn't decrease the file quality at all, it just simply hardsubs without all of the fuss you experience like Virtual Dub. Anyway, I uploaded a short clip for you to see how the watermark is and the quality of the subs. You can always change the font and size of the subs. The program will preview it for you to see it right then and there when you change your settings. Yeah, I haven't purchased it, still saving. Mai
I would try it, but I'm too cheap to pay 60 bucks for it *fnny* if anyone has a serial number, please send it my way
aikoden
@aiyaja, the subs look quite good. I'll be satisfied if my hardsubs turned out like that.. :( I'm trying it out.. but my quality is quite bad still hmm.... maybe it's just me? aiyaja
Hm...do you mind sending me the clip and .srt file and I'll see if it's just you or somehow help you resolve it? LOL But that's if you want to, I'm fine either way. Normally, the quality of the video shouldn't affect the subs and vice versa since all you're doing is slapping the subs on top of the video. aikoden
^ I always use random clips to test... so here's Retrospect's MV with the .srt file. or was it .ssa? i forgot.. .srt - http://www.sendspace.com/file/vjvli6 flv - http://www.sendspace.com/file/24io78
aiyaja
^Oh darn, too late, it says those files are unavailable. Or should I keep on trying again? Does Sendspace say that when it's too busy?
aikoden
^ LOL.. oh my bad Aiyaja!!! I thought those links still worked... I'll reupload them in MF :3 Here you go flv - http://www.mediafire.com/watch/ib20bfuly8szx79/Retrospect.flv srt - http://www.mediafire.com/download/5yem6gegm6sqn11/Retrospect.srt
aiyaja
^Thanks ja. Will test it out. Sorry, took a bit longer. The file you sent was FLV and unfortunately, Wondershare doesn't read FLV with SRT, so had to download a MP4 version of the MV. And then the .SRT file you sent was backwards LOL, so I had to rearrange the subtitles, but for testing purposes only, here you go. I think I understand now. The file whether it be FLV or MP4, the highest quality it can go is 360p, which means, yes, once the file is hardsub, the subtitles does fall back on the quality of the video; therefore, the subtitles won't look as sharp as let's say a 720p video. That only makes sense. However, if you want the subtitles to be clear, you can add subtitles through a video maker like Sony Vegas, now that program for sure, will not use the quality of the video for the subs. aikoden
^ Thanks Aiyaja.. I guess I shouldn't work with flv files then. And I apologize about the srt file.. it might've messed up when i converted from ssa to srt. (I didn't check hehe..) but yes, it was just for a demo. So, I guess the video quality does matter. Drats, but oh well :3 As for Sony Vegas, I have that program (cr@ck3d) *coughcough* but I don't use it to sub because... you can't import the srt or ssa files into it.. so you have to manually go in and add.. I like to work with subtitle workshop and then import the files.. Thanks again Aiyaja, I sort of like the program.. I might buy it too.. one day Oh yes, and do delete the mv.. I do not want you to get a strike! I got one awhile back for uploading the mv with subs Edited September 24, 2013 by aikoden
aiyaja
Yeah, that's the only bad part about Sony Vegas, it's even more tedious than Subtitle Workshop. I'm going to buy it soon.... *fnny* Yeah, I already deleted both testing videos.
aikoden
If only Sony Vegas had that option.. *shakeshead* But if they did, I bet they'd sell it even pricier! So I guess it's both a good and bad thing? I'm debating if I want to get this program or NCH's VideoPad Editor. I sort of like both I've been using the videopad editor to encode some of my timed subs. VDUB, it just doesn't like me... unless I'm doing something wrong each time? hehe.. but yeah, I will debating on the two. I just love how this program is like everything all in one. aiyaja
I just love this program because it converts the video without losing its quality, something other programs have a hard time doing and then the hardsubbing part was just a major plus. Hm, perhaps I'll try that program you mentioned.
