Misscindy
And baby showers are suppose to be thrown for you, you don't host one yourself, usually your friends will host one for you, like in this case Vicki hosted it for Benz.

Misscindy
Idk maybe people nowadays just don't follow the tradition and see it as a money grabbing opportunity whereas if your friends host it they actually want to do it for you genuinely
Mai
I get hosting a party when the baby is around, because then you want to show your friends the baby. But anything before the baby comes is just purely a money grab for me. And they hired a photographer too. I thought they were different, because they have been low key for the longest time. i guess they want this shower to make news too, hence why hiring Vince lol
Sunny
Maybe because its their first born child, I think its great, its happiness for everyone, can't help it that they want really nice photos to frame and they're celebs so it'll make news lol
Mai
Pretty sure most guests don't care for the baby shower part lol. They wanna see the baby
ASH30
I know someone who is throwing a baby shower for herself. This is her third kid but the first girl and the first time throwing herself a shower. The only thing is, she has two other kids that are a few months apart that she throws a birthday party for every year. And then two weeks later it's her husband's birthday party. We always get overwhelmed when she invites us lol. Not that we don't want to go...but sometimes people can get carried away with these things. ASH30
Dont you just hate that hahaha Hahahah yeah. The last two years was the time when we had to debate if we should go. Because the birthday party will always come. We skipped this year. Her oldest son is in 4th grade but she been having a birthday party since he's 1. And Asian party are not small lol. There's like karaoke, gambling, drinking hahahah. Basically, the parents are just having a party and used the birthday party as an excuse lol
Noydarny80
Well my parents just got invited to my cousin 10 years wedding anniversary party. My mom and aunt were confused they didn't they need to put money in the envelope. They thought it was just a wedding anniversary party. Mai
asians when they do parties, its never just to party, its always a money grab.
honda
Baby showers are normally done for the first child only to help out with expenses with becoming new parents. Nowadays, people have baby showers for every child they have. When one chooses to do one for every child, I think it's more of a way to make money than to help you prepare to become parents. Sunny
The feeling of first child vs second or third is different too lol
Mai
I dont mind parents throwing their babies a shower, as long as the baby is around so people can see the baby, so at least it seems like youre just trying to show off your baby to loved ones. Else it just looks like a money grab to me. Some people throw birthday parties for their kids or grand kids, inviting all adults who are their friends while handing out envelops for people to stuff money in. How is that a birthday party for the child when the child is like under 5 with no real friends? And they would say oh im afraid my kid/grandkid feel disheartened if I dont throw a party for them. ummmmm a child that young doesnt understand whats going on. if you want to throw a party to make money off your friends, just be honest about it
Sunny
We often throw parties for the kids but we never get money ahhaa we always end up paying for it all because at the end of the night, we are the host, we pay not them... that's what we think lol. Like if you invite someone to your house, you feed them not they feeding you lol.
Mai
yeah see youre different, thats why the asians gossip about you But we are the same way. Whenever we throw a party, which is not too often, we just do small parties, not once have we collected money for it. And its never for any specific occasion either, we just throw a party just to get friends together.
Sunny
Oh right, maybe that's why people gossip about us, we throw a party at the beginning of the year and none of the guests folk out anything, we buy and cooked the food, pay for everything, took out the entertainment system, connect it, even the location was provided by us, they come, eat food and even get gifts from us for best dressed and dancing lol and after that they leave and we were the ones to clean lol. Mai
you dont throw enough parties, thats the problem. The asians they count quantity not quality. We have the same problem. And because we dont collect money for our parties, we throw ones we can handle to host, so the people who dont get invited get upset becasue its a free party not one where we collect money if its a party to collect money people get upset becasue they get invited to too many so yeah we have people who gossip about us too, dont worry lol
Sunny
When I was in Berlin I invited a friend over for study and I bought three desserts from the bakery, chips and chocolates plus drinks and a large pizza. She was amazed and shocked because she didn't expected me to host like a mini dinner hahaha we were stuffed and ate till 2am while doing our assignments lol it was a fun happy assignment writing night, I don't think it would of turn out the way it did if I didn't get all the food haha. True, we only throw one party or two because its not easy to host it. Plus we don't invite everyone even though we know that they know and we know they gossip haha. Misscindy
People collect money to throw parties for themselves/kids?! What?! Lol I've never seen that. I am co hosting a surprise baby shower for my friend tho, me and another friend are throwing it for her so all expenses on us, hopefully the baby doesn't arrive first or it'll turn into a welcoming party instead lol
